Meet the Maker

Welcome, dice lovers!

note to self: I really should get me an actual profile picture someday. xD

Hello there!
My name is Gwenäelle, and I'm a neurospicy and queer dicemaker based in Switzerland. I will cross the street to say hello to that dog, I think there is no such thing as too much cilantro, I seem to always be out of spell slots, I am bewildered by most humans, and I really, REALLY like making dice.

I had no idea people could make dice until I saw a set on Twitter back in 2019. I had two thoughts. First "people can make DICE?!" and second "I want to make dice now".

I set out to track down supplies (not an easy thing in Switzerland), started off pouring in ice cube trays while I was struggling to import things, and poured and finished my first set of playable dice in January 2020. At that point, I was down the rabbit hole, and I haven't come out since.

Hypermobility and a lack of proper ergonomics combined did quite a number on my arms a few years ago. While holding small items has been a challenge since (I have weak and shaky hands now), being able to craft again is a huge source of pride and joy.

It has also led me to making larger than average dice, meaning that they're both more accessible for me to make, and easier to read for others.

As far as my "signature style" goes, my lack of impulse control and love of thicker resins have put me on the path of Chaos, improvisation, and bloobs. And also Mylar. It's shiny. Shiny is good.

When it comes to ink, I'm a huge fan of double inking. While it does mean more work, it lets me pick colors for the outside that will be easy to read and won't trigger my sensory issues, while giving me the freedom to add something special to the inside of the dice.

Whenever I'm not making the shinies, you can usually find me playing D&D, reading books in the tub, or struggling to keep up with my return to university. If you can't find me in any of those places, that usually means I've turned into a blanket burrito to hide from the humans for a while.

Please feel free to reach out to me on instagram!
My DMs are always open, you'll find me @imaginarium_dice

Love,
Gwenäelle
